Role Overview

As an Associate Technical Writer within the Information Experience and Design Team, you are responsible for creating high-quality documentation and educational materials that directly enhance the user experience of our digital platforms. You will act as a key interface between Product Management, Release Management, Engineering, and QA to ensure documentation is entrenched in the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). This role requires a proactive professional who can analyze complex features, support team initiatives, and align content delivery with a fast-paced release cadence.


Key Responsibilities

Technical Documentation & Content Development

  • End-to-End Documentation: Autonomously produce, review, and maintain in-depth technical documents, including software/systems engineering guides, system operations, user manuals, integration guides, and API developer documentation (REST/.NET).
  • Quality & Standards: Ensure all documentation meets applicable quality standards and is tailored specifically for its intended audience through peer editing and adherence to style guides.
  • Complex Requests: Create documentation and collaterals for complex technical requests, ensuring high-quality product releases.
  • Information Modelling: Contribute to writing styles, standards, and information modelling concepts to maintain a consistent voice across the W portfolio.

Information Architecture & Operations

  • IA Management: Assist the Information Experience and Design Team in creating and maintaining the information architecture and master data for the documentation ecosystem.
  • Process Improvement: Organize best-practice sharing and implement new processes, formats, and guidelines to optimize the Document Development Life Cycle (DDLC).
  • Estimation: Produce and review time estimates for technical documentation tasks to support overall project cost estimation.
  • Single Point of Contact (SPOC): Act as a point of contact for internal teams regarding documentation requests, evaluating needs, and dispatching work effectively.

Product Analysis & Training

  • Feature Assessment: Assess, analyze, and challenge product features during development to ensure logic is documented accurately.
  • Training Delivery: Evaluate training needs, produce high-quality training materials, and conduct technical product training sessions for internal teams and customers.
  • Issue Resolution: Support the local team by investigating and resolving complex, non-standard technical documentation issues.

Qualifications & Skill Requirements

  • Experience: A minimum of 3 to 4 years of experience as a Technical Writer producing technical product documents for software.
  • Education: At minimum, an associate’s degree (Bachelor’s preferred) in English, Technical Writing, Journalism, Engineering, or Computer Science.
  • AI & Semantic Engineering: Proficiency in leveraging AI and Agentic workflows to architect taxonomies, ontologies, and technical dictionaries, alongside experience in utilizing AI for automated content generation and editorial optimization.
  • Technical Stack: Proficiency with Confluence/JIRA, Git & GitHub, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Methodology: Thorough understanding of the Document Development Life Cycle (DDLC) and its integration within the SDLC and Agile frameworks.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong ability to operate in a fast-paced environment with evolving requirements and perform technical interviews to draw out relevant information.

Preferred Qualifications

  • SaaS Experience: Prior experience working within a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) environment.
  • API Expertise: Familiarity with creating developer-facing documentation for REST or .NET APIs.
  • Global Collaboration: Experience working in cross-functional, cross-geography product and content development setups.
  • Advanced Structuring: Proven ability to organize and structure complex installation and configuration guides for high-end systems.
